Late May 2026, Pope Leo XIV shared his first pontiff’s encyclical letter. The letter looked
at the impact of artificial intelligence. He did not address the use issue as yes or no to the
technology, but rather between the building of the Tower of Babel or the rebuilding of the
City of Jerusalem. Two interesting Biblical stories.
An opportunity is being provided to look at the two stories and see how the fit into the
Pope’s understanding of AI and our own. We will look at the Genesis story of the
Tower of Babel and the rebuilding of Jerusalem through telling of the story in the Biblical
book of Nehemiah.
Three sessions will be held Tuesday evenings July 7, July 14, and July 21 at 7:00PM through Zoom.
Steve Moyer will lead the Bible Study.
